Christmas 2011
I am so behind on posting!! So I am going back to update about the holidays.
Luke got woken up (after having been awake from 4:30-6)...so he was out of it!
Chloe has been asking for a "balleter baby doll" for MONTHS....she was SO happy to get it :)
Christmas was super fun this year! Despite not feeling that great, it was still so magical and fun. My kids were SO into it, which makes it even more fun. Caleb is a very logical thinker, so he has always struggled with believing in Santa (it doesn't help that we have a large number of people in our life who don't do Santa....which to be honest, I don't understand...I mean, I know why they do it, but Christmas is such a magical childhood time that I love all things Christmas!! We don't overly emphasize Santa, but he is a fun part!), but I think Caleb still believes after this year! YAY!
Our first Christmas celebration was in Inverness, FL at Brett's grandparents annual Baker Christmas party. Our kids were well loved by their relatives, and it was, as usual, a really fun day!!
The next night, we celebrated in St. Cloud, FL with Brett's dad's side of the family. This side is smaller, but it was still very fun! Once again, our kids were well loved!!
Our last celebration was at our own house for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! Brett's parents came to join in the festivities!
Christmas Eve day, we went as a family to the beach. A friend of mine and her son (Sarah and Mason) joined while Mason's dad was at work. It was such a fun, Floridian way to spend the day! The theory was that the day would pass much faster if the kids were entertained. The weather was beautiful, and we all enjoyed it!
Christmas Eve, the jammie elf stopped by and left some pajamas! Normally, the jammie elf tries to coordinate the pj's, but this year, the jammie elf was too tired :). My kids LOVE character clothing, so while they're young, they will be getting fun pajamas instead of cute ones (that coordinate and are Christmasy).
We drank hot chocolate and watched The Polar Express.
When the songs would play, the kids all jumped up to dance to them (they had done a Christmas program at church with the songs)
Christmas Day, the kids slept in pretty good (until about 7:30).....we had a fun morning opening gifts....
Luke got woken up (after having been awake from 4:30-6)...so he was out of it!
Chloe has been asking for a "balleter baby doll" for MONTHS....she was SO happy to get it :)
(Which, incidentally, is the best money we've ever spent....the trampoline is outside--it was just in the garage to hide it--and the kids literally go out to jump on it everyday)
