It's A.....BOY!!!

By now, if you are my friend in real life, you know we are expecting a BOY!! And, boy, was I TOTALLY wrong. I 100% thought I would be having a girl. This pregnancy was very girl-like (craving veggies, not as sick as I was with my boys, etc). Clearly, that was just God having a funny sense of humor and wanting to surprise me. We found out yesterday that we are having a boy! And, I have to say, I am so excited. When the ultrasound tech announced we'd be adding a boy to our crew, Brett and I both burst out in laughter and were so happy!! Laughter because we were so wrong, but also because we were overjoyed at the thought of another little man joining us. I will post pictures as soon as I scan them. Compared to my other ultrasounds in the past, the pictures aren't as good....but in the room watching him (HIM!) on the TV screen, I got some good views. He was face down most of the time, so it was hard to catch a profile picture. But he was not ashamed to show his peeper...

Disney

Image
I blogged recently about meeting our friends at Disney to share a meal together. Before we sat down at the restaurant, they snapped this picture, and our sweet friends gave it to us as a gift to remember our fun time!!

Santa

Image
All three of my kids do not like costumed characters. For some reason, they are terrified of anyone in a costume. If the character is showing their actual face, they do a little bit better, but they're still not huge fans. NONE of my kids have ever sat on Santa's or the Easter Bunny's lap (when I think about it, the whole concept is sorta creepy anyway)....this year, we got as close as we've ever been able to..... Bass Pro has a really fun Winter Wonderland....and you get a free picture with Santa (the only reason I even bothered). We went on a Monday morning, so no one else was there. It was really fun. This was actually the 2nd attempt with Santa; the first time no one would go near him.

Anticipation

Tomorrow is my favorite day of pregnancy....my 20 week ultrasound!!!! I am PRAYING my precious baby cooperates so we will know what the baby is. I am about 99% it's a girl. It has definitely felt like a girl pregnancy, but I could obviously be wrong. Chloe told me that God told her it's a girl, so her faith makes me think it's a girl, as well! Chloe is so sweet with this baby....she kisses my belly often. She talks to the baby and tells me she will take total care of the baby once it's here. I love how much she adores "her" baby already, so it would be fun, for her, for it to be a girl. I am definitely fine either way. I am just excited to know! We don't have any names picked out yet, so at least we will be able to eliminate half of them :). I cannot wait to see my precious baby!!!!!!!!!

Pantry

Image
Last week, I had an emotionally off week. I was finally feeling better, and unfortunately, I just totally overscheduled my week. It was all absolutely wonderful things, but just too much....so I was exhausted and emotionally empty!! My little sister was in town for a few days...we went to the state fair...we had company over for dinner twice (college students then a guy who coaches with Brett)...I scheduled like 4 playdates....and tried to fit in school. Just too much for one week! Oh yeah, Brett was gone like 3-4 nights of the week (just different ministry stuff). During this busy week, I had a deadline to meet for a devotional I write once every other month. Usually I love to write, but this month, due to exhaustion and my resulting bad attitude, it was tough. But, praise God, I powered through. The night I started to write it, I was absolutely way too tired. To relieve the stress of having writer's block, I cleaned out my pantry (I am so weird). I did not realize how

My Boys' Room

Image
After taking pictures of Chloe's room, Caleb wanted me to take pictures of his and Luke's room. Pretend that it is clean and staged like Chloe's, k?! The boys' room is an outdoorsy theme. I like it a lot, even though it is not really "South Florida". Brett has a few stuffed animals (as in, animals he's shot or caught), and before this house, they were always in our garage/basement. While the boys' room has been outdoorsy themed since Caleb turned 2, Caleb was not a big fan of the deer head....but now he doesn't mind it much (unless he wakes up in the middle of the night, then he asks me to cover it up!).

Chloe's Room, the Before

Image
I have never posted pictures of Chloe's room since we've moved to our new house. Right before I changed it completely, I took a few pictures.... It was a princess theme, which I absolutely love! It is so fitting for my precious girl!! Stay tuned for her new room....(it will be a few days!) A fun snapshot while I was taking the pictures...

Happy 2nd Birthday, Luke

Image
My sweet Pookers turned 2 a week ago. He is such an awesome kid. I am so thankful for the joy and fun he brings our family. Luke is very physical....he climbs everything, wrestles Caleb and Daddy, and isn't afraid of anything. His fearlessness is nerve wrecking, at times, because he will try anything! But it is also hilarious to see what he will dream up. Luke keeps up so well with his older siblings, and they adore him immensely. It is precious. He mimics words we say, and his vocabulary is expanding quickly. He probably has 10-15 words, but he will repeat way more than that. Our third born is a light in our family. He is so sweet...he is such a snuggler and loves everyone. His tenderness is infectious: even people who aren't "kid people" can't help but pick him up when he walks over to them with his arms raised. I secretly think he knows who likes kids the least in a room and will ask them to hold him :). I cannot wait to see Luke's personality u

Preacherman

Caleb has really been growing in his faith. He constantly asks questions and has really profound thoughts. It is such a joy to be around him. His black and white view of God is precious! In his eyes, you're either on God's team or the devil's team (which is true but it is funny to see him describe who is on what team!). Here are some recent statements of his: "God is so big; the world is like a marble to Him. The devil is as small as a cricket that even a baby could crush." "In heaven, bullets are like water since no one can die in heaven." To Chloe: "Don't say bad words because that gives the devil power." Chloe: "What bad words?" Caleb: "I can't even say them because I want the devil to have power." He is such a little man of God! I pray he follows Jesus all of his days!! - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

New Bed

Image
Chloe got a room makeover, which I'll show later....but this was her first night in her new bunkbeds. She slept on the top and surrounded herself with her babies :) - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Baseball

Image
Caleb and Chloe are taking a baseball class. Caleb is actually too old for it, so he is a helper in the class. Chloe is definitely not as much into the "boy sports", but the class is fun! Her favorite part is getting a prize at the end! She's the one in gray shirt with a ponytail! - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Car Wash Day

Image
I was washing my car recently. Chloe asked if she could wash her bike, then the boys joined in! - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Sleeping

Image
Luke fell asleep in Caleb's bed a few nights ago....he eventually fell out :(, but it was so precious! I texted my little sister to show her the picture, and she asked for one of Chloe :) That's not Chloe's actual comforter; I think it was in the wash still! - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

South FL Fair

Image
Our sweet neighbors gave us tickets to the South FL Fair. My little sister was in town last week, so we all went. It was super fun! Caleb was so brave and rode a lot of rides. It is crazy to me how much of a boy he is....he is reserved, by nature, but he's really getting brave lately! It's so fun to see him accomplish something that scares him! I didn't take many pictures....but here are some highlights - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Money Wasters That I Would Totally Take

If I were given a substantial amount of money and told I could only spend it on something indulgent, here's what I would get (I know myself and I could only justify most of this list if I had to spend it): - a new kitchen, new flooring, and crown molding in my house (this is something I want to eventually do, so it's not a total indulgence!) - a tummy tuck (my close friend said its the best gift she's ever given herself to get rid of the mom bulge....I'm not sure where I stand on plastic surgery but I think I could do this) - five pairs of designer jeans and a nice wardrobe - I'd valet park everywhere - i would eat out a lot - monogrammed towels - take my kids to Disney and do it right - luxurious bedding - really awesome window treatments - an expensive purse Until that day happens, though, I truly am content for all that God has given me!! I daydream sometimes, but I know God has beyond blessed me!!!!!! - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

A Good Perspective

As anyone who knows me knows, I have some issues when it comes to a clean home. I grew up in a home that was super fun but never spotless (there were 5 kids; I now understand why)....so I know it is my personality more than my upbringing (if that makes sense). I genuinely enjoy a clean home, and I feel it is a way to bless others who come into my house. For me, a clean home is peaceful. I know when I have a friend with kids over that it will only remain peaceful for a short time, but it is still important to me. My house is never spotless, but each night, I try to restore some bit of order. Conversely, I do not mind what other people's houses look like. It can be spotless. It can be a disaster. It truly doesn't bother me (as long as the disaster is mess and not gross). Maybe this 4th child will officially break me (my other 3 have come close, but I still really like to make my house presentable when expecting guests). So imagine my horror when Brett brings home a fri

Ultimate Dinner Party

I was reading a fun post at Simple Mom (that I don't know how to link to on my phone) about "six people you'd invite to the ultimate dinner party". I haven't thought hard about it, but the people I'd invite (off the top of my head): 1. Brett: he's the life of the party, so it's only fun if he's there 2. Jesus: good thing he's a friend of sinners because the rest of my list isn't so holy :) 3. Jimmy Fallon (my fave TV personality) 4. Justin Timberlake (but only as a package deal: he and Jimmy Fallon are hilarious together) 5. Tina Fey (so brilliant and funny) 6. Adam Levine (so Jesus could save him and he could make music that is still so good but isn't so inappropriate. Plus he seems like such a good guy) I will think more and think of some others! - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

My Old Man

Image
Luke, who is not quite two, pieced together this outfit. He looks like an old man! I told him to put his hands by his side (so I could see his straw...it looked so funny). This is what he did! The other kids wanted in on the fun... - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Crazy Kids

Image
My kids LOVE the camera. While at Brett's parents, Chloe and Caleb asked me to take action photos of them.....and boy, did they ham it up!! I should mention Chloe loves wearing swimsuits. She calls them her gymnastics outfits! It was warm enough to be wearing a swimsuit this Christmas!!
