Funny Things My Kids Do, Part 329 :)

Parenting is such a cool thing. I think I want my kids to stay their same age forever. Then they grow, and they get more awesome. Which I wouldn't think is possible but it is. I love that. They make me smile, and it is a true joy to get to raise these amazing kids. Caleb: - he is in the inquisitive stage. He asks tons of questions a day. He usually starts with "hey, mom, guess what?" - Caleb is the most thorough, thoughtful person I know. He makes no decision without carefully thinking through it. I love that about him. - he is such an easy kid to raise. He doesn't care much for school (even though he's smart), but other than that, he is easy. At bedtime, he comes out of his bedroom about 12 times. If that's his biggest downfall, I'd say we are good! - Caleb is obsessed with toys. He peruses toy websites, catalogs; he asks about them a lot. It's so cute. My dad always pays him for random stuff, and he LOVES that! Chloe: - before she falls asleep, she c

Gotta Love Life

At the beginning of the month, I want to blog each day about motherhood. I knew I couldn't do it everyday, but I planned to do it some. And guess how many posts I wrote?? A total of zero. Such is life. Levi is only 4 months old, and I'm still trying to establish my new normal. He's such a great baby, so as that goes, life is good. My life is just fuller than usual. Brett launched a new business, which is super exciting. He trains athletes on the nights and weekends (working around his ministry schedule). His client base is very small, but we are trusting God to bring clients. It's a strength training, as well as mentorship to high school kids. I'm really proud of him!! Homeschooling is going well. It's a learning curve, and I still feel clueless half the time. And God is revealing to me what is best for our family in that arena. Being solely responsible for educating my kids is a big responsibility. I'm so thankful for the opportunity but not as confident as

Kitchen

Image
I have struggled to find something to decorate my kitchen with. I have been looking for months to find something I like, but the perfect item eluded me. One night, I was just brainstorming cooking, kitchen decor, etc. It dawned on me that my grandma (on my mom's side) was an amazing cook. I called my mom and asked her if she had any recipes of my grandma's that I could have. The next time she came to the Keys, she brought me a stack of them. They were SO much cooler than I anticipated. I assumed my grandma would have perfectly written recipe cards (I remember her house always being very nice and clean). Instead, most were written on scraps of paper...bank deposit slips, spelling words, mail, etc. I know my grandma would never have thought I would find such joy in the scraps of paper. It was such a great realization that the everyday ordinary happenings of life are what's most treasured in the end. (It also made me sad that we are quickly moving to an electronic life; there&

Tree

In our old playroom, we had a tree as a decoration.  Chloe decided to make it a "family tree" and drew people on it.  It is now in her room, since we changed the playroom to an office.

The Blazers (where Brett coaches) are 6-0.  The school's best record ever!  It's pretty exciting around BCS! We love going to the games.  Luke and Caleb run around and play.  Chloe cheers.  Levi and I hang out!
