Nothing

Luke is in that hilariously cute stage where his vocabulary is rapidly expanding but he doesn't know the meaning of everything. Instead of the word "nothing", Luke replaces it with "anything." Example: "What do you want to do today?" Luke (angrily): "ANYTHING!" (When he means NOTHING!) - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Luke was yelling across the park...when I got there, he said, "take a picture." Definitely not an emergency but funny :) The cute sleeper (notice the stuff he brought in bed) At the doctor, playing: - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

My friend has 5 kids and they all came over to play last week. It looked chaotic with 9 kids but it actually wasn't! They're awesome! The boys: - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Chloe

If you are friends with me on Facebook, you have probably been following the story of Chloe and her obsession with her crutches (walking sticks). She watched an American Girl doll movie starring McKenna, who breaks her ankle. For over 3 weeks, she's been super into walking sticks: Then she drew these (after bedtime) and declared these to be her favorites: And drew this cast: And before school, she made these....her creativity astounds me! I love it! From her creativity to her persistence, I am amazed by my daughter :). - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Smiles

Luke. My sweet Luke has to be the funniest kid. He seriously makes me laugh. Last night....well past his bedtime...he walked into the living room and said, "Take my picture". Caleb had spiked his hair. This boy is wild, sweet, hilarious, bold. I just adore him. Recently, he said, "God poured hot sauce on the devil's head, didn't he?" He understands God on a very black and white (good and evil) sort of way. It's fascinating. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Trip to NYC

Image
Levi and I met my parents and little sister in NYC to visit my older sister and nephew. The vacation was an absolute blast, and I was so thankful to get to come!! My sister and parents are so helpful with Levi that I felt kid-free most of the time :). The highlight for me was seeing my sister's charity event that she hosts each year. She did an amazing job, and I was blown away by her abilities. My second favorite thing was sitting 20 feet from Bette Midler (my childhood hero) for an afternoon in her incredible one-act play. It was awesome! We ate lots of food, shopped a lot, and laughed a lot. I loved seeing my family. And I love the City!! An Open Letter to New Moms

Dear New Mama, Let me start by saying: you will sleep again.  Maybe not tonight, maybe not next week.  But I promise, you will sleep again. This new mom gig isn't as easy as the books made it seem, is it?  Or as natural as that childbirth class made it seem.  Or as sweet as your friend made it seem on Facebook this morning.  In fact, it is downright hard.  Really hard.  Really really hard. Once you forgive your friends for lying to you and not telling you how hard it is, let me encourage you.....it does get easier.  Way, way easier.  And way more fun. I have four kids, and to this day, I say with certainty that my first born's first year was the toughest year of parenting I have ever had.  I had four kids in 6 years, so that's kinda saying a lot. Back to you, new mama: God created you specifically to be the mom of your child.  No matter what you've read/heard/thought you would do, the absolute best thing to do for that sweet baby of yours is exactly what YO
