Kitchen Makeover

Image
I have issues. I really enjoy changing my home around, and when Brett is gone, I use that time to do something fun to my house! Once I have my house "just right", maybe I will stop with my projects. Luckily that's a distant dream for it to look as I envision (unless I win the lottery that I don't play)! I've never liked my kitchen color, but it wasn't awful. I found the color on Pinterest but the picture was labelled wrong...so the color I got wasn't what I wanted. Brett went to Tampa yesterday to watch the FSU game with his cousin and friend. I searched through my paint cans and realized I had almost an entire gallon of leftover bedroom paint. I love my bedroom paint color, so I decided it would be a free fun makeover for my kitchen! I spent all of Saturday night painting. Caleb and Chloe helped a little bit (when they would venture out of bed), and they loved that!! I am so much happier with the color, and I feel like it gives my house more continuity. I

Humility

Humility, oh humility, how I do not like to learn your lesson. The last 2-3 weeks can be summed up in one world: humility. It all started a few weeks ago.  In a group of people, I was laughing hysterically about a time when Brett fell while mopping the floor.  I shared how anytime I laugh at someone's expense (he was in the conversation), I always reap what I sow. And, boy, did I. About 5 days later, Brett and I had just returned home from a date (our first without Levi!). Long story short, we were chatting with the babysitter.  I went to put Levi to bed and stepped on an item on the floor...and while holding Levi, took a bad fall.  Because I was trying to protect him, I landed really hard on my shoulder.  My shoulder is still jacked up :(. Then, a few days ago, I slipped AGAIN.  This time on water in the kitchen.  It hurt my knee pretty bad. Humility. Then, a few days ago, I wrote a goofy post about my love of media and my dislike for reading.  I was mostly trying to en

Chloe's 5th Birthday

Image
Chloe talks about her birthday 365 days a year.  She LOVES her birthday.  She had a fun party at Brett's parents' house a few weeks ago.  We celebrated as a family on her actual day.  Then, she had a friends' party. And for the entire month of September, she used "I am the birthday girl" to try to get her way for anything.  It's quite entertaining. For her friends' party, we had a joint party with her friend, Isabel (their birthdays are 2 days apart...but they're a year apart).  It was a super girly party (with a puppy cake to honor Isabel's desire for a puppy party), complete with colored hair spray, mani-pedis (courtesy of the lovely Whipple girls), and make-up.  Chloe had a blast, and it was a really laid back but fun party.  The girls are all absolutely precious!! The birthday girls: The lovely girlies celebrating! Leah and Grace blessed Chloe by hosting the mani-pedi station.  They are the sweetest girls! My sweet girl

Changing...

You may have noticed some changes to blog....unless you are like me and read blogs via Google Reader. I like change.  I thrive on change.  I know a lot of people are creatures of habit, and while I like routine, life stays fresh with change.  Except for my family....that will remain constant :).  I do not need to change my husband or kids! My old blog name was hard to remember, so I decided to change it!!  The new one is way easier: my name + 6 people in my family!  With a name as common as Sarah Williams, it is hard to find an easy domain name, so I am quite excited this one was available! This will still be a blog about my future world changers.  They are amazing and wonderful, and I still fully plan to brag about them enough to annoy you.  I am their mom; that's my job!  While I still know my kids will change the world, "I'm raising worldchangers" was not the phrasing that I wanted to convey.  I never truly loved the domain name, because I know that it is Jes

Chloe

Everytime Chloe starts to play with a new toy from her party, she asks, "Do you think I have had this for a long time?" To which I answer, "Yes, you've probably had it since you were a baby!" (I have to answer the way she wants me to...or else she will correct me, haha) Her reply, "Nope, I just got it today!" Oh how I love childhood innocence! Speaking of having her way, she was giving me a make over with her new make-up.  She would ask what color of eyeshadow I wanted.  If I didn't pick what she wanted, she would tell me it was a bad color and to pick a different one.  Awesome.

Chloe's Actual Birthday

Image
We celebrated Chloe's birthday as a family...with presents and lunch at Chili's (my kids love that place, for some reason)       Levi....  Caleb picked out these for Chloe (it was so sweet: he asked me to take him to get her a gift...what a great brother!)

Sam's Wedding Fun

(Chloe's hair did not look so great....curlers gone wrong, haha!)  Cousins and Auntie Lylia      The wedding was at my parents' farmhouse. I love this view:    My siblings--minus Lyl-- and cousin (who was raised as my brother)  My sister and me:    The DJ had the kids dancing....so cute! I so wish photobooths would have been around when I got married...they're so fun!!
