Dear Most Moms on the iPhone

This post has been circulating around the internet.  It rubbed me the wrong way.  So I decided to write my own. Dear Most Moms on the iPhone, I see you over there on the bench.  Are you like me and at this park because you realllllly need your kids to burn off some energy??  You've been home with your kids all day....changing diapers, playing dolls, building with Legos, fixing meals, fretting over sleep (or lack thereof) habits, eating chicken fingers (because who wants to cook two lunches?), and you just need a break.  Am I right??!! I can't see your phone, but I imagine you are checking Facebook or Twitter or Instagram.   How wonderful that moms can connect so easily with the outside world. - Your best friend from college you, unfortunately, haven't talked to in months because your relatively normal kids become screaming banshees when you pick up the phone.....can you believe how big her kids are getting?? And, goodness, aren't they cute?? - Your sister wh

What Happens When Chloe Gets My Phone

My kids are not allowed to use electronics for the time being. I do let them take pictures so they take full advantage. This is Chloe's doing while at Caleb's football practice! - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Luke

My boy Luke. Oh, he has my heart. He is equal parts amazingly sweet and amazingly stubborn (which he inherited from me so I actually have patience for it). He is 100% cute. The best part of 3+ kids is I'm so much more relaxed and enjoy stages more when Luke hits them. Because I have experience and confidence most "issues" pass with age. In parenting my older two kids, I try to think "is this a real issue or a phase that will pass?" But with my younger two, I have the experience to know the difference! Experience is a wonderful thing. I do a lot of apologizing to my first born, and we are learning together. That whole rabbit trail was to say....I'm so loving the cute of 3 rather than fearing I'm creating a rebellious child. Luke is a creature of habit and says some cute things! He will say, "Guess how much I love you?" Me: "how much?" Luke: bery (very) much! Then at bedtime, we have the same night routine. Luke: "tell me a story f

This picture makes me smile for so many reasons. 1. I mean, seriously, how cute! 2. They're singing along to worship music. 3. The colorful things on top of the glass are homemade toys they made to sell. Little entrepreneurs. 4. They're best friends and have a blast together (and also fight). When I took the picture, Luke didn't want to be left out: Having one of those days where I think "THIS is why we homeschool." - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
