Caleb's Lost Tooth

Image
Caleb's first lost tooth was pulled, but he recently lost his first non-pulled tooth.  He wouldn't let me pull it, but it eventually came out while he was eating an animal cracker.  We think he swallowed it because the tooth has never been found!

Happy Birthday, Sweet Levi

Image
My baby is ONE.  And what an awesome one year old Levi is.  He started walking on June 2, a few weeks before his birthday.  He actually skipped cruising furniture all together.  We were in Jacksonville at my cousin's beautiful wedding, and out of nowhere, Levi just stood up and then took a step!! He is not sleeping through the night yet.  But he is weaned, so he should be sleeping through by the end of the week.  YAY!  I will feel normal again!!  He does not sleep with anything and weaned himself of a pacifier awhile ago.  Though he doesn't sleep through the night, he is sleeping much better than he used to. Levi is just so fun.  The thing people most often ask is, "Is he always this happy??"  The answer: Yes!  He laughs and laughs.  Levi adores his siblings and puts up with a lot from them.  He is, by far, our biggest baby, so he will probably get the last laugh.  They carry him around like he's a rag doll.  I stop it, but they just love him so much.

End of June update

My precious, adorable baby is ONE.  Wow.  I can't believe it.  Leading up to his birthday, I was having bittersweet feelings of him turning one.  He is still so much a baby, in many ways, but the first birthday feels like such a huge milestone.  However, once he turned 1, I have to say....I am only feeling the sweet feelings.  I love my kids with everything I have (in case you haven't noticed, haha), and I am pretty excited to be moving forward with life.  One thing I have noticed about raising kids: it only gets better. When I see newborn pictures on Facebook, I definitely have to skip over them fast because.....oh my gosh, NEWBORNS!!  They're amazingly sweet.  But, other than that, I am very thankful to be going forward in life.  It's weird to be closing the baby chapter of my life.  Levi officially weaned today....I dropped the final 5 am feeding (finally). I will write Levi's birthday post next.  I took pictures awhile ago, but we have been extremely busy.

Caleb

Caleb is such a good kid. He's such a steady, easy, sweet spirited kid. The kind of kid that is so enjoyable to be around. I love his heart and love being his mama. He's all boy but he just has a gentle spirit that I adore. Today, he asked me why people smoke. Side note: I'm reading a fabulous book about boys and it's so funny how much it perfectly describes Caleb's current stage. One thing it says is that anything parents don't do, boys his age will deem as "bad". We can all agree smoking is bad, but that's not something we've taught our kids. Anyway back to my story.... After asking why people smoke (and I really didn't have a great answer.....because why do they??), he said, "I really wish smoking didn't exist. From now on when I make a wish, I'm not going to ask for silly things, like to be richer. I'm going to wish for good things." Oh my! That boy is amazing!! His heart, oh, it's the best. - Posted using Blog

Dreams

About two months ago, a girl that goes to school where Brett coaches football told him she had a dream about us.  The girl saw us holding a baby girl, and her name was Olivia.  Brett asked her if the baby was ours or not, and she said, "She looked just like the rest of your kids." Anyone who knows me will get a good laugh out of this one.  Brett wants another baby (especially a girl but obviously would love a boy too), and while I am definitely open to another child, I would prefer it to come by any means other than my body.  I have talked about this way too many times on this blog, I am sure. I prayed about the dream (taking it seriously because God often speaks to me through dreams).  I really didn't know what to do with it, so I decided to just stop worrying/thinking about it.  I don't really know why this is such a weird struggle for me.  I guess because I reallllly want to be done with this phase of life, but I also just plain love my kids and being a mom.  N

Luke

My children outsmart me daily. It's embarrassing and hilarious. Today...... Me to Luke: "Please stop calling people names." A few minutes later.... Luke: "My walkie talkie just said you're stupid." - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Chloe

Image
One of my most favorite things about Chloe is how much she loves the things I loved as a kid.  She plays with dolls, plays house, and likes to do crafts.  She is also really into braces, crutches, and glasses, which I was super into as a kid, as well (and only ever had fake glasses, borrowed crutches for fun, but I did have braces). It makes me smile how much Chloe loves the same things. So when she asked me for glasses, I had to oblige :).  Hey, it's cheaper and smaller than crutches! She takes them seriously.  When she has them off, she pretends she can't see.  She even purposely failed an eye test to get them.  When I said she could get them, no matter what, she miraculously passed the eye test :).  I just wanted to be sure she did not need real glasses!!

Allred-Woods Wedding

Image
My cousin got married this past weekend.  It was a gorgeous wedding!!  Brett officiated, and Caleb was the ring bearer.  They both did a great job!  I was so proud!! My dad calls Levi Ruebenstein. It's a long story (that I typed out but there was no way to make it sound politically correct, haha). This is my dad's Ruebenstein face :)   At the hotel:
