Visit to Springfield

I grew up in Springfield, Missouri. I love everything about my hometown. The people are nice (wow, the people are SO nice). The landscape is beautiful. The weather is awesome. I had a wonderful childhood, and it always fun to reminisce when I visit my hometown.

My reason for going home was to attend the wedding of one my my best childhood friends, Cate Woody. Her wedding was gorgeous and so fun, so I am happy I got to be there to celebrate!!

While there, we did so many things!

I got to eat Andy's Frozen Custard. Twice.

I went shopping with my mom. Side note: I bought a homeschooling book. We have officially decided to homeschool our kids. My commitment is to homeschool Caleb for Kindergarten. We plan to reevaluate each year with each child, but I am fairly certain I'll end up doing it for quite awhile. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I am so excited!! I have been praying about the decision for years, and I have come to the conclusion that homeschooling is the plan for our family (at least right now).

I got to take my kids to a pumpkin patch in a place where Fall is actually a season!!!!! The pumpkin patch is one of my most favorite parts of the year, so I was so happy to get to go!!

The weather was actually quite warm, which was disappointing. It got cold the day I left. But, even so, we still had a great time!!

Megan and Emily drove down from Kansas City to visit! We all had such a great time seeing them, and my little sister, Lylia, loved spending time with the girls!! They all did crazy hair, and these pictures made me laugh so hard!!

So, I am really enjoying our new life in Florida. I am so thankful for all God is doing, and the change has been much better than I expected. However, when I went back to the midwest, I got really homesick for KC. People are so much nicer. The weather is cooler. Houses are bigger and cheaper. For a few days, I was quite homesick. But, then, upon returning home to Florida, I remembered all the reasons I love it here!! The people are mean but hilarious. The weather is gorgeous all year around. The houses have character. And, ultimately, this is where God has called us, so it is home!
