All The Single Ladies
Brett and I have been together for almost ten years. We've been married close to nine of those years. I remember longing to be married soooooooo much when I was close to finishing college, and I felt like I had been single foreverrrrrrrr. Which is completely laughable now. I was barely 23 on my wedding day. However, remember that longing and thinking of many of my friends who still haven't met Mr. Right, got me thinking. My single friends (who long for a relationship), there are some things I would like to say to you. 1. The reason you aren't married is NOT because you aren't ready . You just have not met the right man. I have heard married people (of course) say things like, "You will meet the right man when you're truly ready for a relationship." I assure you I had not reached a level of maturity at 23 that somehow qualified me for marriage. I just happened to fall in love with a guy I knew when I was 22. If I had...
Things They Say and Do.
Every year, Brett takes Chloe out for Valentine's Day. As she puts in, "he always gives me stuff I love" (chocolates, roses, stuffed animal, and dinner out). She is currently making a gift to give Brett on Valentines Day. Because it's never too early to start planning for that. Caleb was questioning my level of safety measures taken. I said to him, "I've got this. Don't worry about it." He replied, "You know I am on the safe side." Me: "I know, and I love that about you. That's the way God made you. Daddy is even the same way." Caleb: "I gotta shake what my Daddy gave me." When I tell Luke "I love you", he replies, "I love you sometimes." (I may have said this before). Luke also confuses "no" for "any". Example: Me: "What was the most fun thing you did today?" Luke: "ANYTHING!" (meaning NOTHING)
Chloe. At age 6.
Chloe turned 6 almost a month ago. I haven't posted a blog because I haven't taken pictures. It's so flippin hot that I was hoping for cooler temperatures. That's looking unlikely, so I will get pics soon. I am so thankful that God gave me a sweet girl in the midst of all these boys. When people inquire sympathetically about her being the only girl, my first thought is "she's enough girl for us all." I mean that sincerely and sweetly, not rudely. She is 100% girl. With all brothers, she is not even 1% tomboy. While I would love her no matter what, obviously, I adore her girliness. She frolics wherever she goes, especially if her Daddy has just spoken sweetly to her. She loves baby dolls, dancing, gymnastics, make-up, cute clothes, and laughing with her friends. Chloe is often starting impromptu dance parties and plays....and wants everyone to watch her perform. Ironically, in public, she's pretty shy. At home, thoug...
